Bumpus Cove sits just across a ridge and the Nolichucky River from Erwin, TN. It encompasses a large portion of CNF and a SuperFund site. Years ago someone dumped a large amount of hazardous waste on an area now fenced off and supposedly "cleaned up". Simmons Branch has 3 nice waterfalls and other streams in the area look promising.

12/12/2004 - I joined Dana, Bill, and Craig for some bushwhacking up Simmons Branch. We found 2 previously unseen (by any of us) waterfalls. Craig had heard an aquifer fed the stream from high on the hillside but we didn't make it that far up this trip.
